Utah Classic

The team did fantastic in the morning.  The Opens were later in the afternoon

In fact, we almost missed the first Smooth with Brayden.  Miriam was putting on her shoes while they were going onto the floor and some lady gave Brayden a number to pin to his back.

They took 3rd!

Then on to Latin where she and Logan took 6th 

 The LPA kids who stayed till 10:00 pm to compete in another round of Opens 

In Smooth Miriam and Brayden took 2nd, Savannah and Logan took 3rd.

I think Miriam and Logan took 3rd, Kivrin and Josh took 4th.

One more competition and then just the Spring Recital left of their 9th Grade Ballroom year.

February Holiday

Miriam gets this random week off in February.  It's kind of this hidden charter school gem to get time off while the rest of the district is in session.   We ran into some snags to our holiday fun plan making however, because Darin had to go on a business trip that same week.  Then the boys both got warning emails from their school about riding the line of too many absents. So Miriam ended up catching up on homework, filling out applications for a summer job, and practicing her ballroom dances while the boys went to school each day.  She got together with friends one evening, but the rest of the time she and I watched shows together after the boys went to bed.  

We had to get one ski day in though, (absences be damned) so the 4 of us went to Brighton. 

Super fun day.

Byron for sure will get one more ski day, but heres to hoping the snow lasts well into Spring Break so we can get Darin up on the slopes as well.

Snowboot Hikes

I have been up in the hills for a few snowboot hikes, a few on my own and a few with friends, but my favorite was last Sunday with Darin.  

We haven't had much time together lately, and now he is on a week-long business trip.

Luckily we got his hike, some time to start an on-line class we are taking together and a dinner with Lisa before he left.  

Shrek Friends and Family

Opening Night (actually the dress rehearsal that became opening night) when Miriam was getting over this awful cough, that she eventually went on antibiotics for and currently has one day left BUT THE COUGH STILL ISN'T GONE!! I am so frustrated.  She has been coughing since November and been on antibiotics twice.

She was a guard on Cast B nights.

The show wasn't without it's hard moments but Jules and the LPA Advance Musical Theatre put on an amazing show.

Shrek Dress Rehearsal

Before the costumes and makeup was totally figured out.

The show started out great, and then the kids just got better each performance.  They became more and more comfortable, and relaxed. It was such a great experience for these kids...Jules and their choreographer Erin really push them, it's fantastic.
