M and A pretended to be pioneers for a week.
Not only did they get to pretend they were Laura Ingalls by day, they got to spend the afternoons and evenings at G'ma and G'pa's house together.
(the girls colored their own camp shirts)
This is how I entertained the boys....
The cow I milked...the boys were not at all interested in that activity.
The volunteer farm boys were so cute!
The albino peacock, George.
The boys loved seeing him around.
He left us gifts.
We spent lots of time panning for gold.
(again notice the cute little volunteer)
Then turned that "gold" in for candy....we are no fools!
Grandma and Grandpa are perfect hosts with little candy bowls around, crayons and coloring books ready, yummy dinners, and unlimited TV. Grandma gave each girl their very own pioneer rag doll and then let the boys pick out a remembrance from the gift shop.
Fun summer memory.
