Miriam's Summer

Second week of summer Miriam went on a week long backpacking trip to Boulder Mountain.
She loved it,  hopefully we can find her another opportunity this next summer.

She took 2 classes: Business Specialist (drudgery) and Fit for Life, both required classes she wanted to get out of the way.   She did yard work again for a family friend up the street on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  She attended Ballroom technique classes on Monday and Wednesday mornings, and then got a job at Cherry Hill 3-4 times a week.  She flipped burgers and chicken, fried fries and donuts in the hot summer sun.  Brayden is her Smooth and Rhythm partner this year. They found a new coach and started getting their Opens ready for the 2019-2020 competition season.
I am so proud of how hard she worked this summer, and how many times she walked into things not knowing a single person.  She put some away some $ for college but a huge chunk of her summer earnings went to a Ballroom competition dress and a Ballroom Intensive she attended in the fall. She scheduled a make-up session at Sephora where I paid close attention so hopefully I can reproduce the look for competitions.

Miriam got her drivers permit in August and we started driving a little bit, that ramped up quickly in September since she had drivers ed first semester.  She is set to go get her licence when she turns 16, but needs so many more driving hours before either of us would be comfortable.

This summer was the first where there was more work than play for our girl, but there was plenty of downtime, lots of family time, and she accomplished so incredibly much.
