Nearly every weekday for a year, Bub has spent at least 20 min. with Rusty and Rosy (as well as the Camp Consonant crew). They have been a staple at our house. Soren always climbs up on the computer chair with Bub when it's time for "Wussie and Wosy". I sit in for the first 15 min of reading to help, but then leave those two to handle the math and science segments together.
I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this program when Miriam was pre-school aged. The Waterford Institute has been trying to produce an on-line pre-school for children who for some reason or another can't attend a regular pre-school. So far both Miriam and Byron have been accepted into the study....hoping it goes until 2014 for Soren!
To start the program, all the kids had to go take an assessment test while the parents were briefed on the rules (which are strict, but they should be....it's a $400 program we are using for FREE).

To end the program, the kids were again taken for an assessment test while the families filled out paper work and snarfed on junk. As the kids finished up their assessment, they would be brought into the room and it would be announced "So and so has officially graduated from the Rusty and Rosy program" all the families would clap.
So...we were waiting, and I hear "Are Byron Ray's parents here?" the facilitator told me he wasn't sure if Byron would want to walk into a full room of clapping strangers so he thought he would come get me. How astute! That situation = Byron nightmare, so I walked out with him into a room of clapping strangers, which was still a nightmare for little B...but he didn't cry so it was a success.
We celebrated with 7-11 Slurpees since Bub got a free one!
That makes 4 Slurpee's for Bub this summer....all free! (3 on 7/11 free Slurpee day)
B then requested a trip to the pet store to do some research on large rats. Rats, are the current obsession of B and M, they are planning to save up for two females. They wanted birds, snakes, of course dogs and cats, but right now it's rats (one of which will be named Mrs. Frisby from our summer reading). Poor Coconut, our hermit crab, is just not cutting the mustard as far as pet fulfillment goes.
Those crazy kids are going to drive me insane, but I love it.
So proud of Bub today.
